Is The Truth Really Ugly?

I just finished watching the movie “The Ugly Truth” and it was really cute.  But it got me thinking about men and love.  Why is it that in movies, the men are always assholes but then they become amazing and fall in love with the person they would usually hate?  Ridge and I are completely opposite but that doesn’t make us the perfect couple like these movies show.  We fight like cats and dogs but what makes us stay together is the LOVE.  It’s not our personalities, that’s for sure.  Ridge can be a complete jerk and I know I’m crazy.  It’s simply love that keeps us together.  Isn’t that all it really should be though?  Why does a relationship have to be about liking the things someone does?  I mean, I like playing video games with Ridge and he enjoys taking my dog to the park, but it’s not like either of us is totally thrilled about doing it.  We do it because we love eachother.  Now, if Ridge was a total tree-hugger like me, I don’t think our relationship would be the same.  I can’t say it would be better or worse, but it would be completely different and I’m not sure how well it would work.

Hello boys and girls, I’d like to tell you all a little secret.  I’ve been lied to yet again.  Ridge is smoking again (did he ever stop).  I find smoking disgusting and unattractive.  I’ll be waiting for him to call me and explain what’s going on soon.  This is yet another reason why our relationship isn’t like the ones in the movies.  In the movies, the guy always ends up changing (FOR REAL) for the girl.  In real life, it’s all a bunch of bull.  The truth is something I have a problem with.  You see, I was played multiple times by multiple guys and since then, I can’t trust a single person.  I had finally gotten a hold on this problem with Ridge though, and had been trusting him 100%.  That is, until it was betrayed again.  Now it’s my turn to tell him the ugly truth.  It’s intervention time.  Stay tuned for more exciting news.
